We had lots of fun when Mrs Bush came to work with us and showed us how to make a homemade lava lamp and enjoyed science activities within our house groups.
All in all a very busy term. See below for photos of our fun learning.

We have done some gardening and planted some vegetables and flowers with help from Mrs Welch.
We have investigated how plants grow and what they need in order to grow.
We have learnt all about Jack and the beanstalk and explored the book in detail through drama, writing and story maps.
The Children had a wonderful day at Leigh Woods. We played interactive games and learnt about different types of tress and there uses as well as facts about woodland animals. We also made a paper flower pot and planted some flower seeds.
TERM 4 SPACE
What a wonderful time we are having exploring space. We started by exploring the planets and trying to remember their names. We have been using the story 'Whatever Next' where little bear goes to the moon in his cardboard rocket. The children have produced some beautiful writing about a visit to the moon as well as some lovely rhyming poems.
Space week was lots of fun, Jo Richardson our space ambassador talked to us about how craters are made and then we investigated and measured craters using sand and marbles.
The children are really enjoying learning about space including researching on the ipads, looking in books and making their own rockets using a variety of construction toys and modelling.
The children have had lots of fun exploring their favourite books this term. They have written about the characters in their book and completed a book review about their book. As well as individual books we have explored 'Going on a bear hunt' as a class and I have to say we have some very good actors in class 1.
We have been looking at maps as part of our Geography and explored Africa. We had a visitor into school who has visited and helped in Kenya and she told us all about how people live in Kenya and showed us lots of wonderful photos and artefacts.
We have learnt lots in maths as well such as adding and subtracting, time and how to measure and compare things that are long and short.
Across the school we are beginning to introduce some class sharing and we are delighted that Year 4 have been visiting our class every Tuesday afternoon and sharing stories with us. They even showed us their electricity posters and explained how to stay safe near electricity.
Please see below for some lovely photos of us being busy learners.
Well what a busy term we have had. The children have been busy investigating materials that float, making their own 3D house, learning lots of new sounds, visiting St Martin's Church and taking part in a wonderful nativity. Have a look at the pictures to see them in action.
Then if that wasn't enough we won the attendance trophy in week 6 and enjoyed a wonderful day out seeing the animals and joining in a nativity in a barn with a real donkey at Noah's Ark zoo farm.
This term our topic is houses and homes. We have been learning about what different types of houses are called. We have been building houses out of straws and bricks like the three little pigs.

On our travels we also saw a frog, a feather, some autumn leaves and a cottage. The children had a lovely time and have learnt lots about different houses that we live in.
The children had a fantastic day at Leigh woods. We learnt about the animals that live in the woodland and how the trees provide shelter, water, air and food for them. We played interactive games that helped us learn the names of different trees and what the tree could be used for. We also made our own pot and planted flowers that will now go into our gardening area at school.
