Our Class Visitor: November

Year 6 used some of the profits from their self-run tuck shop to fund a visit from a historical guest linked to their class book: An Eagle in the Snow by Michael Morpurgo.

On Tuesday 19th November, Year 6 had the pleasure of a visit from an A.R.P Warden, Sid Richards, who told us about what it would have been like in World War 1 (WW1). For example: what it was like in the trenches and a battle in "no man's land". We were told what it would have been like during the Christmas Truces and they gave gifts, played sports such as football, boxing and lots more. They gave gifts like cigarettes, buttons and pictures.
